This section has been created and updated to help support elementary school teachers integrate the dance/movement, drama, media arts, music, and visual arts into their Language Arts, mathematics, social studies, and science lesson plans. There is no better way to provide education and development for the "whole child" than by developing their aesthetic, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical dimensions through experiencing a multitude of activities and exposure to the fine arts.
Below, you will find a link to BYU's Art Partnership: Arts Reaching and Teaching in Schools with numerous K-6 integrated lesson plans for teachers to use in their classrooms. The lesson plans include the integration of dance, drama, media arts, music, and visual arts into Language Arts, mathematics, social studies, and science.
There are also integrated lesson plans, by grade-level, provided in a drop-down format under this tab (Lesson Plan). The purpose of these lesson plans, projects and resources is to support your efforts in integrating the fine arts into your daily classroom teaching. Please email Mary Ann Erdmann if you have a great idea or lesson plan that you would like to share with other teachers.
"Without arts as a part of our curriculum, I think other parts of our curriculum will suffer."
